Embracing the Journey: Building on the Energy of Holy Cross

Last week I ended the Holy Crossings newsletter with the sentence: “I am looking forward to the adventure that God brings to us in the weeks and months ahead.” This week I am starting my article with the same sentence because I feel that it applies.

We have great energy at this time! We want to continue to build on the excitement that we hear from talking with those who are facilitating the Porch Talks. Great discussions not only about love, faith, and prayer but also the sharing of oneself with others about your spiritual walk.

Today I met with the IMAGINEERS (formally Long-Term Planning Team). The following are the team members: Bob Underwood, Lenora Norris, Alison Rankin, Stacy Collins, Jonathan Graves, and Rev. Anne and Becky Underwood will drop in on meetings as requested. This group of individuals are looking at the “WHAT NEXT?”

The “WHAT NEXT” will be another series of Porch Talks focusing on the themes of Love in Action (1st week of August); Faith in Action (2nd week of August), and Prayer in Action (3rd week of August) as participants can discuss topics related to the future of our parish. Like the current Porch talks, there will be specific questions which the IMAGINEERS facilitators will use to guide the time spent together.

Please know that your input is important as we move forward these next months and immediate years together. We want to reach as many of you so in addition to the new series of Porch Talks (described above) there will be a Parish-Wide meeting between services on Sunday, August 25th (4th week of August). Please come. Bring your ideas! Ask questions. The Vestry wants to hear from you!
